The new Railyard 3 in 1 Workout Conditioning and Speed Sled you gives you the most Weight Sled for your money. We’ve taken the old metal sled and redesigned it to let you use all type of weight to load it – you are not forced to use plates any longer. The Railyard Workout Sled can be pulled from both sides letting you team up for partner pulls and the Railyard Weight Sled can be used to anchor up to 6 battling ropes or other fitness products like resistance tubes. Add an optional Power Handle and you can push your Sled for leg strength. Be prepared for any and all your fitness demands with this versatile and functional addition to your product mix. The "Granite Gray" Weight Training Sled & Anchor is 36" x 18" and made of 16 pounds of tough, construction grade polyethylene and guaranteed for 5 years against any breakage or we will replace it! The removable center post nests in a molded in recess in the Sled for storage when not in use, (no need for a center post if you load it with weight other than plates.) Each Weight Sled & Anchor features six screw inserts on the outside runners for mounting steel skid plates for use outdoors on concrete or asphalt, or 6 rubber feet for use as an Anchor only on wood floors. Optional Steel Push Handle fits into two receptacles on one side and let's you load the Weight Sled and push.

A 1.5 inch battling rope will fit though any of the 6 anchor holes, for ropes larger than 1.5 inches they are attached with included loop connector. If you aren’t dragging a weight sled, you aren’t really training. At least that’s the opinion of Dan John, a kettlebell instructor and strength coach in Burlingame, CA. Aside from providing a unique way to blast your legs, moving a weight sled puts your whole body under stress and can drive your heart rate through the roof. “I don’t know of a better way to jack up your metabolism,” says John.

First, invest in a sled—we like the GoFit Super Weight Sled ($130 at gofit.net), but you can construct your own with the tips below. Load the sled with weight plates until the total is at least equal to your own body weight, if not more. Attach ropes or sled straps to it and fix the opposite ends to a weight belt—the kind you’d wear to protect your lower back while performing a heavy deadlift or squat (or get a harness, as shown here). Strap on the weight belt and drag the sled as fast as you can under control for 30 to 40 meters. Perform three sets, resting as needed in between. You can also push the sled from a low-crouch position. After a few workouts, feel free to experiment with other lengths for the ropes or straps, and heavier weights. There are no absolute rules. “A sled workout is like jazz,” John says. “But one thing I always say to beginners is, ‘Have respect for this.’ ” Sled training can wipe you out.

I have a tiny home-based personal training studio, and I also travel to clients’ homes. I train clients in my backyard as well as in the cul-de-sac on my street. The Sled Anchor is perfect for me! In addition to planning exercises using battle ropes and resistance tubes, I can quickly attach the harness and straps and include pushes and pulls using my own weight plates. All I need to do is load equipment onto the sled and take it outdoors. It’s light enough that I can quickly and easily load it into my car along with weights and other things I want to take to clients’ homes. I purchased the handle so that I can push and pull the Sled Anchor. This is an extremely versatile piece of equipment, especially for a small training space like mine. It’s perfect for doing circuit training with small groups. I love it and I know I’ll be using it for years to come. Customer service was awesome, too!

We were looking for a training mechanism to build power in our sprinters legs. The 3 in 1 sled accomplished this feat. Most of all we can use it both indoors for training in winter and outdoors for spring training.

I have tried several different sleds in my time as a trainer both for clients as well as for my own personal fitness goals. This weight training sled does everything the old design does and a lot more. I found it very versatile in use and easy to convert from one format to another. No other sled I have ever used has the ability to have multiple stations with several different clients working with the sled at once. The ability to be able to use this sled with other equipment is another great option. Hooking up battle ropes for different types of exercises including regular waves, 2 person tug-of-war, pulls and more was one of the unique qualities of this sled. It is also very easy to use, moves smoothly across a field or gym floor, is simple to load weight and unlike most other sleds this one is portable! For a personal trainer that meets clients in their homes and in open spaces, this is one of the greatest benefits. Stacey Johnson, Personal Trainer

As an owner/operator of all ladies clubs, I found most sleds to be to heavy. We have all levels of fitness in our Fitness Centers. I wanted every participant to feel successful when they took a boot camp class. If the sled already weights 50+lbs then it might be to hard to push/pull for some. The Railyard Fitness Sled is light weight. You can make it weight as heavy or as light as you want. I found this sled to be very versatile. Can can drag it with the harness, you can push it with the handles even pull it towards you and push it away. We love it and our members love it too! Working with Lee at Railyard Fitness has also been a wonderful experience. Very easy going and patient to answer all of our questions.
