Railyard Obstacle Course Layout #3:

This Railyard Obstacle Course is recommended for all bootcamps, group personal training, P.E.. programs, and for groups of 20 people and up. Now we're talking! You will be able to keep 20 adults or 30 or more children moving at all times with this layout. Combine exercises on the Course with traditional circuit activities like cones, hurdles, and agility ladders for even more fun and challenge. Take your weighted balls, body bars, or resistance tubes onto the Rails to add challenge, balance, coordination, and increased core engagement to every exercise. On the Railyard Obstacle Course all exercise programs begin to look like the activities we do in athletics. Jumping, crawling, and ducking are necessary to perform at your optimum.
You will have enough Platforms and Rails to set up two of your Rails in the high (36") position, giving you 4 Rails in the low (18") position. You can split this package into 2 separate courses if you plan to work with two small groups or two different families. Use 9-inch Platforms to incline/decline Rails for more variety and fun!

As a personal trainer, health club, or youth conditioning business, this is when the Railyard Conditioning Course starts to become a revenue center. You can train families, children, adults, athletes, fire firefighters—anyone whose job or sport requires they move left, right, forward, backward, up, and down. Describes most everyone, doesn't it? Minimum space needed : 300 sq. ft.

On the Railyard you train the enitre, not just parts, and this applies to kids, adults and athletes.
Movement on the Railyard replicates the wide array of natural movements caused by our environment are all brought to being through patterns, not by parts. The parts of the body and the structure of the body submit themselves to the will of the pattern.
Patterns that exploit opportunities to deal with force result in stronger parts. Patterns that rely on quick reaction time create parts that respond in an instant. Patterns that create flexibility yield parts that are extensible. In all of the situations that are real in life, we develop better patterns, and the parts respond.
The essence of ‘functional exercise’ is that the exercise carries over into numerous activities—activities that create fundamental foundations, which support more specific skills.

I love the the Railyard! It can be used for a lot of activities! Health Related Fitness components can all be introduced, maintained and assessed on the Railyard. Kids can up, under, over and around thus improving their power, agility, strength, balance and reaction time, so improving their Skill Related Fitness Components. We use it as a station, fitness station, class obstacle course, movement using locomotor skills, patterns, levels, etc. the possibilities are never ending.  But most important , MY KIDS LOVE IT! desguises the fitness benefits July 18, 2014
Reviewer: Paul
One of the great aspects of using the Railyard obstacle course is that both sides of the brain are utilized to perform the challenges the course offers, when students have to move across the midlines of their bodies. Students actually have fun meeting the challenges of the course, which disguises the fitness benefits derived by participation.  Paul Zientarski, Instructional Coordinator, Physical Ed., Health, Dr. Ed., Naperville Central HS

My athletes love it July 18, 2014
Reviewer: Billy Corbett, CSCS, C.C.S, C.H.E.K
The young athlete (or for that matter, any human), should be developing a broad base of athleticism by doing activities that we used to do including running, jumping, crawling and climbing. This is far more likely to develop the bio-motor abilities like strength, speed, mobility, agility, balance, coordination, and power. I have found implementing an Railyard Obstacle Course with its creative potential can touch all these components while having fun in the process.
